A Short Respite…sorta

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

At least, there won’t be any holidays or family functions for the next week or so, I’m almost certain. I love this time of year but keeping up can be exhausting. Always so much planned.

The house is looking fantastic and I can take a short break from that too. But I never rest for long, my bedroom is up next. Check out these adorable table cloth remnants I found to make some new cushions for my bed.

And I’ve continued to create and list like wildfire. The change of scenery has truly been inspiring. Expect a constant stream of pretties for a while at least, I’ve been selling almost as fast as I’ve been listing!

Now, if you’ll excuse me, A Charlie Brown Christmas is on in other room! I hope you enjoy what I’ve been up to and check back soon to see more.

Sew Smart

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

In my biggest sewing project since 7th grade sewing class, I made a new curtain for the bathroom and used the extra material for the window above my craft table! Did I mention how awesome it is to now have my sewing machine in the office with the aid of the previously mentioned new work area.

Next up, a curtain to hang in the doorway between the kitchen and dining room. I have some gorgeous sari fabric for that. Ah, to be able to close off the mess that is my kitchen. It gets that way fast, we have no dishwasher. I love my house, but it is old.

I’ve been fiendishly creating and listing new pieces, tis the season and all. A couple have already sold already, so hopefully it’s working! I’ll be listing even more later today when it’s light enough to take pictures.

Mmm…tis the season, that reminds me, tomorrow is Thanksgiving with the grandparents! YUM!! I’m a casserole girl, pretty much anything smothered in gravy, cream of mushroom soup or cheese is my favorite so I’m a big fan of the holiday. I hardly ever even get turkey, just overfill a plate with sides. This year I’ll be bringing broccoli, cheese and rice. So happy casserole day, everyone.

The weekend again already!

How can it be so? I spent the whole week in a continuation of organizing and cleaning my house. Now I have my craft table set up and my dining room in order and I can’t believe how much more space. Jewelry was beginning to take over my life.

And I can’t believe what a wonderful effect minimizing clutter has had on me either. I’d been kinda in a jewelry slump and with the exception of my holiday wear, I’d not been making a lot lately, just listing stuff I made last month or before. As soon as my new work area was set up though, I sat down and made a ton of new stuff! It feels so good being creative again.

I ordered myself a present for over my craft table yesterday, I couldn’t resist. Too much blank wall right now. I think this will be adorable, I’ve been wanting one of tamar’s dreamcatchers for a while. It will hang right next to the lovebirds, who are now set up right next to my work area. I’ll take some pictures soon and give you guys a virtual tour of my projects of late, I’m pretty excited about it all.

Holidaze

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

That whirlwind time of the year has begun and full throttle.  So quickly in fact, I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend!  So now is the time to finally show a few of my new holiday pieces.

I started to really get into the spirit of it though, made myself some holiday jewelry and a bunch of Christmas presents while I was at it. I’ve got more pieces photographed and ready to list today, so expect to hear from me again soon.

I spent the whole long weekend cleaning and decorating and moving furniture but I finally have storage enough to accommodate my business! My office is starting to make sense and my living room is starting to be pretty.  I’m a happy and determined woman and am off to tackle the next projects, my craft table and the dining room.

Winter’s coming!

And I haven’t had a warm coat I’ve enjoyed wearing in years. So I was shopping for one at the local discount store last week when I realized if I had waited this long, I ought to wait for something special.

HUZZAH! Admittedly, not the teacup and saucer I was shopping for at the time, but I have found an awesome number of cool vintage sellers on Etsy I had never seen before this week on the search. Bright blue and purchased from HihloStud, I’m stalking the mailman. This week was the first cool weather I’ve seen yet in Texas this season so it will be just in time too.

And I list on. Lots has been updated this week, I’ve just been so busy with family functions I haven’t been able to tell you about them. I’m thinking tomorrow will bring the first of the holiday jewelry, it’s about that time.
