I think that Etsy treasuries are becoming my new addiction.  Or rather, shopping on Etsy is my longtime addiction and this is a fun way to connect with the things that I love from afar.  Filled once again with items from my favorites, enjoy all the pretty things!

Well, I don’t know that I can really call it a talent, because at my limited level of skill, I’m not that talented, but I can crochet.  Sort of.  I taught myself the basics.  I don’t know the first thing about reading patterns or actually “doing” anything.  So far I’ve tackled scarves.  And potholders.

I don’t even often wear them, but I guess I’m quite proud of them.  My grandmother can crochet, she’s so good at it.  She can also knit beautifully.  Most of the women in my family can.  That seems like magic to me, crochet seems easier because it’s really just a series of knots.  And only one needle seems simpler too.

I have two books on crocheting that I have stubbornly refused to open, I’m awful about following instructions.  But it’s a fun thing to do when it’s cold outside and you’re sitting on the sofa watching a movie.  So I’ll continue to make scarves.  At least winter’s coming.

There’s  a newish website out there called Vote Etsy, where three similarly themed Etsy items duke it out for Item of the Day and today I was lucky enough to find a message in my inbox that I was a contender today when I woke up.

Today’s theme is skeleton key jewelry and my newest one, The Memory Key, is in the running!  I’m winning at the moment, but I have some quite lovely competition and it’s all in good fun, so we’ll see where it goes.  In any case, it’s always wonderful to be recognized for the work you put out into the world, so I’m feeling pretty good about it.

…is everything in this treasury.  Another Etsy treasury post, but this one’s special, it’s my own!  I haven’t curated a treasury in over a year, I just never have the patience to get one, but luckily, that box popped up at just the right time and I got to fill one up with some of my favorite things.

That pretty much describes my desk right now, with sparkly shrapnel everywhere.  I have been on a creating and listing spree this week.  Usually I try to keep the jewelry bits confined to my work station, but sometimes they spread.

But I’m quite happy with the work I’ve done, and I hope you enjoy the eye candy.  These are some of the new pieces that have appeared in my shop these past few days.
