I was so impressed with the with the composition of the first Flickr Gallery I was lucky enough to find one of my photographs in that I had to try one for myself.  I know looking at this website, you’d never guess, but my two favorite colors are blue and purple, so I decided to combine these in this first collection of my own.  I titled it ‘Whisper’.

The best part of this gallery to me is that there are even a few friends and their work interspersed throughout, which makes it extra special.  And if you use Flickr and haven’t yet seen their new galleries feature, there are some truly stunning ones out there.

For Americans, Thanksgiving is zooming towards us and I must admit, I’m pretty excited. You see, I’m a casserole girl and Thanksgiving is only the holiday of a thousand casseroles!  You could call it an obsession.  I love them.  All of them. There’s never any turkey on my plate, just a giant pile of casserole after casserole.  But green bean casserole is my absolute favorite, there’s just something about canned fried onions that I cannot get enough of.

November came fast this year and I’m way behind on getting my shop prepared for the holidays.  The broken camera set me back substantially, so I’ve been working double time the past few weeks, making, photographing and listing.

I was really lucky to acquire this week a giant bag of vintage jewelry, a gift from Mimi’s god daughter who was cleaning house.  Some bits of my new stash can already be seen in my newest listings, but over the next week or so, expect some really neat new pieces.

There’s  a newish website out there called Vote Etsy, where three similarly themed Etsy items duke it out for Item of the Day and today I was lucky enough to find a message in my inbox that I was a contender today when I woke up.

Today’s theme is skeleton key jewelry and my newest one, The Memory Key, is in the running!  I’m winning at the moment, but I have some quite lovely competition and it’s all in good fun, so we’ll see where it goes.  In any case, it’s always wonderful to be recognized for the work you put out into the world, so I’m feeling pretty good about it.

That pretty much describes my desk right now, with sparkly shrapnel everywhere.  I have been on a creating and listing spree this week.  Usually I try to keep the jewelry bits confined to my work station, but sometimes they spread.
